How it all started

Brittany Jones-Cooper is a Journalist and Producer with experience across digital media, TV, and podcasting.
Brittany is best known as the host of BUILD Series, a live web show featuring interviews with actors, activists, and authors. Over eight years at Yahoo, Brittany reported across several editorial platforms, including Yahoo Finance and Yahoo Lifestyle. In 2024, Brittany was a CNBC contributor, hosting personal finance segments on saving, budgeting, and tax preparation live on NBC's TODAY.
As a Supervising Producer, Brittany worked on the Audible series, Ali in Me, and Microsoft's Changemakers. Beyond production, Brittany has moderated panels at SXSW, The Paley Center for Media, Advertising Week, The Obama Democracy Forum, Tribeca Film Festival, Comic Con, SheMedia, and The Female Quotient. Panels included conversations on the need for more diversity on production sets, the connection between sports and female CEO's, the cultural impact of Black female film directors, and the importance of investing in women-led businesses. In 2025, Brittany completed the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship at Columbia Journalism School. Over the course of 10 months, Brittany completed the core curriculum of the MBA program at Columbia Business School, refining her ability to deliver enterprise stories that are both human-centered and data-driven. While at Columbia, Brittany also completed a book proposal under the mentorship of Professor Samuel G. Freedman and his narrative non-fiction book writing seminar at Columbia Journalism School.
